West by North West – Jonathon Rose, AECOM – Wednesday 16th October
A look at the University of Cambridge’s long-term plans for both the West Cambridge site and Eddington (North-West Cambridge). This talk highlighted the large scope of the University’s plans for an educational, research and business campus and a new residential extension to the city, partially to provide post-doctorate housing.
There are indicative links shown outwards to the Science Park, Biomedical Campus and city centre. Such infrastructure should not create further boundaries to surrounding neighbourhoods but connect the University to the wider city. This would recognise the influence this institution has on all who live in this city, either providing access to opportunities or barriers.
